I was gifted a small Mastercraft lathe , and set up shop in Brunner Ontario. Woodturning was a good place to start wood crafting, as a lathe is something possible to use from a wheelchair. (I am a paraplegic with spina bifida). Spinning tops, tealight holders, goblets, and other small projects followed suit. I then reached the milestone of turning my first bowl. Needless to say, I was hooked! My first lathe had a 1/3 horsepower motor and after turning more and more bowls the motor eventually burned out.
- November 2020
I upgraded to a larger Nova Saturn Lathe. This opened up far more possibilities such as bigger serving bowls, green wood bowls, and many others. During the summer I started selling my products at the Wellesley Farmer’s Market.
- June 2021
We relocated to Lanark Ontario. I started selling at Perth Farmer’s Market the following summer. Since then I have turned quite a few bowls along with other products for various customers.
- 2023 – Present
I have started a new business line with lots of variety coming with CNC Router projects.
